CHOICE is warning Australian parents to urgently stop using the Mamakiddies Baby Playard Happy Dino portable cot sold by retailer MyMoonMart.

The portable cot, sold predominantly through third party marketplaces such as eBay and Facebook Marketplace, failed CHOICE's test of the mandatory safety standard.

"This Mamakiddies portable cot has failed the mandatory safety standard and could be putting your child at risk," says CHOICE testing expert, Kim Gilmour.

"The cot presents a long list of risks including fall, suffocation, entrapment and strangulation. CHOICE has contacted the retailer MyMoonMart and the ACCC to request that a recall of this product is enacted urgently," says Gilmour.

Concerningly, a number of other portable cots failed CHOICE's safety tests (above the mandatory standard). Those portable cots included:

- 4Baby Liteway Travel Cot EA11816

- Star Kidz Amico Super Light Travel Cot

- Kmart Anko Travel Portacot 42-001-409

- Babyhood Uno 2 in 1 Portacot

- Childcare Ison 3 in 1 Travel Cot

- Mocka Porta Cot A02458

"Our main issue with the other portable cots we put through the CHOICE labs was a lack of mattress firmness which presents a suffocation risk to children," says Gilmour.

"If you've purchased one of these unsafe cots, CHOICE recommends you return it to the retailer or manufacturer for a full refund."

The CHOICE labs have also identified 2 strollers that have failed the consumer group's latest round of safety tests.

The strollers with serious safety failures were:

- Babybee Rover 2019

- Milly & Coup Milo 2020

"If you have any of the portable cots or strollers on this list, CHOICE recommends you stop using them urgently for the safety of your children," says Gilmour.
