Consumer group CHOICE has taste tested 22 varieties of choc chip cookies from Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, Cadbury, Arnott's and more, to work out which is best.
A panel of experts tasted the choc chip cookie samples without knowing the brands, and judged each sample based on appearance, aroma, flavour and texture.
"Coles took out both first and second place in our testing, followed very closely by Woolworths in third place. These cookies beat some of the more premium options in our testing, proving that price does not always equal performance," says CHOICE Editorial Director, Mark Serrels.
"The Coles Bakery 'Dreams Crumb True' cookies came first in our testing with a score of 78%. Our experts praised these cookies for their dark chocolate chunks, and said they were quite crunchy with a little bit of chew in the centre," says Serrels.
