Aussie Broadband is an up-and-coming internet service provider (ISP) that's steadily grown to become one of Australia's largest ISPs. Though given the dominance of the largest providers, this is a relative term – while considered one of the biggest, it only controls 5% of the market.
It performs well, too. It took the top spot as the best NBN provider in Australia in our last two reports, and has also had the most satisfied customers in our last two ISP satisfaction surveys, which we conduct every two years.
How fast are Aussie Broadband NBN plans?
The ACCC's NBN monitoring program records the internet speeds of Australian providers thanks to more than a thousand volunteers.
We take this data, published quarterly, and apply a scoring methodology to reveal which NBN providers are the fastest for a given plan and NBN connection technology.

On top of this, there's also the question of whether customers are happy with the speed they're receiving, which we survey every couple of years.
At the end of each financial year, we combine the ACCC's speed data with our most recent satisfaction survey to figure out which ISPs are the best in Australia.

Are Aussie Broadband customers happy?
Aussie Broadband customers are the most satisfied overall with their internet service by a significant margin, according to our 2023 customer satisfaction survey. This was the case in our previous survey from 2021, too.
These customers are also the most satisfied in other areas, such as connection speed and value for money (among others), but not always significantly more so than other brands.
