Since acquiring iiNet in 2015, TPG is one of the largest internet service providers (ISPs) in Australia. But how does it rate? We examine the top ISPs to find out their real-world NBN speeds and how happy their customers are.

How fast are TPG NBN plans?
The ACCC's broadband provider performance program records the NBN speeds of Australian internet service providers and publishes its data quarterly. We take this data and apply a scoring methodology to help show which providers come out best for speed across different NBN speed tiers and connection technologies.
Check out our NBN provider speed performance scores for more details.
At the end of each financial year, we combine the ACCC's speed data with our most recent satisfaction survey to figure out which ISPs are the best in Australia.
The graph below includes a tab comparing overall speed scores for FY21–22.
TPG was one of the few providers that scored under 90% for this period, though only barely (89%).

Why we've partnered with WhistleOut
We've partnered with search engine WhistleOut to help you find and buy the right plan for you. The 'compare plans' links in the above table will take you to their site. While we make money if you buy through WhistleOut, this doesn't influence our rankings. 100% of the money we make goes straight back into our nonprofit mission.
Are TPG customers happy?
TPG's NBN customers are fairly happy, with the provider scoring equal-third overall with its subsidiary iiNet in our 2023 satisfaction survey.
